Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2026 · covers the free alpha of the desktop product, its current components, and the hosted inference service.
The short version: we collect an email address so you can sign in, the minimum bookkeeping needed to run your account and meter inference, and nothing else. No ads, no trackers, no data selling — and the desktop components contain no content telemetry. Your documents, dictations, and clipboard content are yours; we pass them through to the model you asked for and don't retain them.
What we collect
- Account basics — your email address and the timestamps of your sign-ins. Sign-in is by email magic link; there are no passwords.
- Access keys — the API keys we mint for each product component, so we can list and revoke them at your request.
- Metering records — for each inference request: timestamp, model, request size, and computed cost. This is what the free daily allowance and paid tiers are measured against, and what lets us detect abuse.
- Billing status — during alpha, nothing is charged; when paid tiers activate, Paddle (our payment provider) handles payment details. We never see your card number.
- Support correspondence — if you email us, we keep the thread.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics on this site.
- Telemetry is anonymized and never includes your content. During the free alpha it is on by default (usage shapes and route health only, never what you copy or say) with a one-click off switch in each current component. Once any tier is paid, telemetry becomes strictly opt-in — and opting in earns the 10% "data for discount". This page always describes exactly what's sent, before it ships.
- We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it except with the processors listed below, to the extent needed to run the service.
Your content
Summaries, dictations, and anything else you run through the product are processed to fulfill your request: our gateway routes the request to the model provider you (or the component) selected, meters it, and returns the result. We don't use your content to train models, and we don't retain the content itself beyond what the request needs. Whisper transcriptions are processed in memory and not stored after the response is returned.
Service providers (processors)
- Brevo — delivers sign-in and account emails on our behalf.
- Paddle — payment processing and merchant of record once paid tiers activate (they handle taxes and receipts; they receive the information their checkout requires).
- Model providers — the AI providers our gateway routes to (listed with each model on the pricing page). Requests they serve are covered by their own terms.
Retention & deletion
Account and metering records live as long as your account does. Ask us to delete your account and we remove it — email support@julianutility.com from your account address. Minimal billing-era records we must keep for tax/compliance reasons will be noted in our reply.
Cookies
One login-session cookie, set only when you sign in, used only to keep you signed in. No consent banners here because there's nothing else tracking you.
Region notes
EEA/UK: we process account data to perform the service you asked for (contract), and metering/security data under our legitimate interest in running and protecting the service. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion any time via the contact email. California: we don't sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here with a new date and, for account holders, announce it by email before it takes effect.
